Yodia Heritage Hotel Review: Overview
Yodia Heritage Hotel review: is this boutique riverside property worth the stop in Phitsanulok? After a 2-night stay, I think it is. Set on the banks of the Nan River and just steps from one of Thailand’s most sacred temples, Yodia Heritage delivers a cosy, classic Thai experience that stands out as one of the best hotels in the province.
With only 25 rooms, the hotel feels more like a private retreat than a commercial hotel. The heritage-inspired design blends traditional Thai art with modern comforts, creating a warm atmosphere that invites you to slow down and enjoy the quieter side of northern Thailand.

Quick Verdict: Yodia Heritage Hotel is the top pick in Phitsanulok for travelers who want character and comfort. It is not the most modern hotel, but the riverside location, classic Thai styling, and excellent breakfast make it a worthwhile stop for anyone heading north to Chiang Mai, Lampang, or Uttaradit. See how it compares in our complete Thailand hotel guide.
Location & Getting Around
Yodia Heritage Hotel sits right on the Nan River in central Phitsanulok. The location is one of its strongest selling points. Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat, home to the famous Phra Buddha Chinnarat (widely considered one of the most beautiful Buddha images in Thailand), is literally a 2-minute walk away.
The hotel is also close to the famous ก๋วยเตี๋ยวห้อยขา (hanging leg noodles), a Phitsanulok institution where locals sit on wooden platforms with their legs dangling over the river while eating noodles. It is one of those uniquely Thai experiences you will not find anywhere else.

Road trip tip: Phitsanulok is a natural midpoint between Bangkok and Chiang Mai. If you are driving north, Yodia makes an ideal overnight stop to break up the journey. The hotel has parking on-site, and the town itself is compact enough to explore on foot or by bicycle.
The Room
I stayed in a Twin Room, and the classic Thai styling was immediately noticeable. Dark wood features, warm lighting, and traditional Thai art pieces throughout the room give it a cosy, heritage feel. The beds were comfortable with quality linens, and the room included a private balcony overlooking either the river or the garden.
This is not a modern, minimalist hotel. The design leans into its heritage identity with wooden floors, ceramic details, and traditional Thai silks. If you are looking for a sleek, contemporary aesthetic, this is not it. But if you appreciate character and a sense of place, Yodia delivers.

Bathroom
The bathroom continues the heritage theme with tasteful ceramic sinks and a mix of modern fixtures. It is spacious for a boutique hotel, with both a bathtub and a separate shower. Toiletries are provided, and the overall finish is clean and well maintained.

Amenities & Facilities
Yodia Heritage keeps things simple but well executed. The outdoor swimming pool is compact but inviting, and the surrounding garden area creates a relaxing atmosphere. One standout is the bicycle rental. You can grab a bike from the hotel and cruise along the scenic riverside road, which is a lovely way to explore the area at your own pace.
The lobby has a warm, inviting feel with a library corner and traditional decor throughout. The Amore Restaurant, which serves both Thai and Italian cuisine, doubles as the breakfast venue with river views.

Pro tip: Ask the front desk about the bicycle rental. Riding along the Nan River in the early morning or late afternoon is one of the best ways to experience Phitsanulok beyond the usual tourist spots.
Breakfast & Dining
Breakfast at Yodia Heritage was a highlight. Served in the Amore Restaurant with views of the Nan River, it offers a generous spread of both Thai and Western options. The Thai dishes were well prepared with fresh ingredients, and the Western options covered all the essentials. Omelettes are cooked to order, and the fresh fruit selection was excellent.
The restaurant is also open to the public for dinner, serving a mix of Thai and Italian cuisine. It gets busy in the evenings, so booking a table in advance is a good idea if you plan to eat in.

Staff & Service
Service at Yodia Heritage is excellent and one of the hotel’s strongest points. The staff are genuinely warm, attentive, and speak good English. From the moment you arrive, there is a personal touch that larger hotels often lack. The hotel even offers a complimentary airport pickup with their Mercedes sedan, which sets the tone for the level of service you can expect throughout your stay.
The clientele is a healthy mix of both Thai and international guests, which speaks to the hotel’s broad appeal and reputation within the province.
